If you are new to Gunpla, start with something simple, enjoyable and not too expensive. Your first kit should help you learn the basics without making the hobby feel difficult.
For most beginners, Entry Grade or High Grade 1/144 is the best choice. Entry Grade kits are the easiest way in. They are quick, simple and still look good once built. High Grade kits offer more variety and a little more detail while staying beginner-friendly.
If you enjoy small details, you might be tempted by Real Grade, but it is usually better as a second or third kit. The parts are smaller and the build can be more delicate. Master Grade 1/100 kits are larger and impressive, but they take more time and space.
For tools, you do not need everything at once. Start with a modelling nipper. After that, a sanding stick, panel lining marker and tweezers are useful upgrades. You do not need to paint your first kit unless you want to.
The best first Gunpla is one you actually like. Pick a design you are excited to build, take your time and enjoy the process. Kidultverse stocks beginner-friendly Gunpla, tools and accessories to help new builders choose their first kit with confidence.
